Lambretta Scooters
In 1944 immediately after the war when the Allied forces liberated Rome from occupation, Italian Ferdinando Innocenti had the idea of producing a Scooter as an economical form of transport. An Italian engineer was asked to design a small, economical motor Scooter, the first prototype of the Lambretta Scooter 'Experiment O' was completed. Pier Luigi Torre who was commissioned to re design the Scooter for production was very much influenced by the 1940s American military Cushman Model 32 Scooters. The name Lambretta derived from the small river Lambro in Milan, the famous Lambretta Scooter was born.
In 2004 a USA based design and branding firm was contracted to construct a new image propelling the aesthetics 35 years forward for a new generation of Lambretta Scooter worshippers. The new contemporary look for the Lambretta brand was purposely created so as to preserve the historical significance of the brand's original concepts and creator Ferdinando Innocenti's legacy, giving you the chance to re-experience one of the motorsports industries most highly reputable and historic Scooter brands.
After 4 years of research, planning and development, Lambretta International settled on one of the few manufacturers they felt able to comply with their established design and demanding, high manufacturing standards.
Manufactured in Taiwan, a country noted for top quality Scooter production, the three models UNO50 Scooter, UNO150 Scooter, and DUE50 Scooter are DOT, EPA, Transport Canada and CARB certified. In addition, all are backed by their Lambretta Dealer Network (LDN) assuring Dealers efficient parts deployment and solid warranty backing.
