Complete Motorcycle Restoration in British Columbia

Restoring a motorcycle is a complex process that involves bringing a bike back to its original or near-original condition. This can range from a light clean-up to a full, frame-off rebuild. Discover our restoration services below:

1. Disassembly and Inspection

This is the first and most critical step. The motorcycle is fully disassembled, and every part is thoroughly inspected. This process identifies any hidden damage, wear, or missing components and allows the restorer to create a detailed plan and parts list.

2. Engine and Drivetrain Rebuild

The heart of the restoration is the engine.

  • Engine Rebuild: The engine is completely torn down. This includes replacing worn parts like pistons, rings, bearings, and gaskets. All components are cleaned, measured, and reassembled to factory specifications.

  • Carburetor/Fuel System Overhaul: Carburetors are cleaned, rebuilt, and tuned. The fuel tank is professionally cleaned and lined to prevent rust, and all fuel lines and filters are replaced.

  • Transmission/Clutch Work: The transmission is inspected for worn gears or bearings, and the clutch is replaced or rebuilt to ensure smooth power delivery.

3. Frame, Body, and Finish Work

This stage focuses on the bike's appearance and structural integrity.

  • Frame and Swingarm: The frame is checked for alignment and structural integrity. It is then stripped, repaired, and repainted or powder-coated.

  • Bodywork and Paint: All fenders, side covers, and the gas tank are repaired to remove dents and scratches. They are then professionally prepped and repainted to match the original factory colour and decals.

  • Chroming and Polishing: All chrome and polished parts are stripped, re-chromed, or buffed to a high shine.

4. Electrical and Component Restoration

Every electrical component is checked or replaced.

  • Wiring Harness: The entire wiring harness is often replaced with a new, accurate reproduction to prevent future electrical issues.

  • Lighting and Gauges: Headlights, taillights, turn signals, and all instrument gauges are refurbished or replaced to be fully functional.

  • Switches and Controls: All handlebar switches, levers, and cables are cleaned, repaired, or replaced for safe and reliable operation.

5. Suspension and Braking

  • Suspension Rebuild: Fork tubes are polished or replaced, and new fork seals, bushings, and oil are installed. Shock absorbers are also rebuilt or replaced.

  • Brake System: The entire braking system is overhauled. This includes rebuilding or replacing master cylinders and callipers, installing new brake lines, and replacing pads.
